All kids need clean water!

Our children always have access to clean water, but children in Zambia do not.  Join the Running Water 5k to help get clean water to children to Africa.

I can’t imagine giving a child brown muddy water to drink, but parents in Zambia have no choice.  It’s a struggle to even get that.  It typically involves walking a mile or more each way, lugging the dirty water back for families to drink.  This happens every single day.  Attaining water is a major part of their day, while we unthinkingly go to the tap, or the refrigerator and get all the clean water we could ever want.  In Zambia, if it’s a choice between dirty contaminated water or no water, it’s an obvious, but very sad, choice.

I’m glad that there are people here who are working to improve this situation, and I am honored to have MudPuddles be a sponsor of the second annual Running Water 5K run/walk here in Sherwood.  It’s coming up in three weeks – on May 22, and I’d encourage everyone to consider signing up.  The goal is to raise $25,000 for clean water in Zambia.  This amount goes to build wells in communities so families can enjoy clean water close at hand.

You may learn more and sign up by going to www.runningwater5k.org.  Please consider doing so!  We are blessed with so much, and this is one small thing we can do to help others
