Bubbles
Bubbles are an age-old, inexpensive delightful toy for kids of all ages. We can all remember the bubble bottles with the little plastic blower inside. We’ve still got ‘em. Only now we have the spill-proof kind.
Why give your child bubbles? Because they’re FUN! They also teach eye-hand coordination, gross-motor skills, language development, cause and effect, and basic physics. Whoa!
With Babies:
1. Sit Baby on your lap, facing away from you. Blow bubbles for Baby to enjoy. (Make sure to aim away from face!)
2. Blow bubbles with Baby in the bathtub. Such fun to try to watch and try to catch!
3. Blow bubbles for Baby to crawl to.
With Toddlers:
1. Play chase and catch the bubbles.
2. Blow bubbles and dance to music.
3. Play stomp the bubbles
4. Catch the bubble on your head, on your hand, on your toe, on your knee.
5. Work on blowing skills. It’s not easy to blow a bubble. If your child can’t yet blow, we have My First Bubble Maker, where you push down a handle and out come the bubbles. Fun! (And a great cause and effect lesson!)
With Preschoolers :
1. Play dodge the bubbles. Catch the bubbles. Chase the bubbles.
2. Blow the biggest bubble, the smallest bubble. Can you blow a bubble inside a bubble? How about the fastest bubble?
3. Use different kinds of bubble wands. Make them from wire or pipe cleaners. Or buy them from MudPuddles.
4. Use different household items for bubble wands. Try a slotted spoon, a flyswatter, a plastic berry basket or a six-pack holder. If you have our wonderful Oball, it makes a great bubble toy. Just fill a dish with bubble solution, roll the Oball around in it, wave the Oball and watch the bubbles fly!
With School-Agers:
1. Have contests and races with bubbles.
2. Play Dodge the Bubble. (Kids in a circle, each with bubbles, one in center. Circle kids blow bubbles, center kid dodges. Fun!)
3. Play Bubble Tag. Child who is It has the bubbles, chases other children, blowing bubbles until a bubble touches someone. Then that child is It.
4, Bubble Relay. Two teams, each player has to run to the bubble blowers. Blow 10 bubbles. hen run back and tag the next player, to do the same.
5. Make huge bubbles and learn bubble science. See the Klutz Book, How to Make Monstrous Huge Unbelievably Big Bubbles.

We’ve got bubbles in bottles of various sizes – the non-spill kinds, the big refill bottles,

I’m a grandpa and I loved doing these bubbles as much as the kids did!” “This book is Awesome!”
