The story of a little girl named Lisa who goes to a department store and falls in love with a little brown bear named Corduroy.  When her mother notices the bear is missing a button, she refuses to buy him.

Corduroy spends the night searching the store frantically, trying to find a replacement for his missing button.  Nothing seems to fit just right.

The next day, Lisa returns with her own money to purchase Corduroy.  When she takes him home she dutifully sews on a brand new button for Corduroy.

 

This is a heartwarming story that will make any child hug their favorite stuffed toy just a little bit tighter!
