Snow Treasure
Snow Treasure is an unforgettable story of how children in Norway helped successfully transport gold out of Norway right under the unsuspecting eyes of Nazi soldiers in 1940. During the German occupation, Norwegians wanted to protect their gold, and eventually devised a dangerous plan for children to transport it while sledding downhill to the river right in front of German soldiers. The children would bury the gold in the snow and build snowmen to mark the spots. Then, during the night, the gold could be dug up and transported to a cargo ship. The story is exciting and suspenseful, as well as providing an interesting snapshot of World War II.
