Expert Pick Review written by Eddi

Snap Circuits provide an entire electricity curriculum in one box! But even more importantly, they are fun and engaging. The activities go step-by-step from the most basic creation of a circuit to elaborate circuits with all the bells and whistles. One young customer in our store was engrossed in going from activity to activity and announced to everyone, “This blows my mind!”

One of the advantages of Snap Circuits over some other electricity kits is the fact that the wiring is inside the plastic snapping parts. This eliminates the need for young electricians to have to connect tiny wires that have a tendency to come apart easily. All the child needs to do is snap the pieces together and, ah ha, the light goes on, or the buzzer buzzes, or the propeller flies! Wow! The child feels successful and excited, ready to try more.

Snap Circuits come in several size sets. Set 1 has projects 1-100 in it. Set 2 has projects 1-300, and Set 3 has 1-500. The projects are progressive in difficulty and it is best to go in order. If you buy Set 1, and your child is begging for more (a not unusual scenario), you don’t have to then buy Set 2 which repeats the first 100 projects.) We have add-on packs which allow you to purchase just the additional projects you need. (Projects 101-300. Projects 301-500. Even Projects 500-750, and, yes, there are kids who go through all of them!)

Snaps Circuits make a great home-schooling curriculum, and are the perfect gift for that child who wants to explore the world of electricity.
